CJ had a lot of fun in the surf at the ruins of Tulum. Our resort had very little sandy beaches so this was a treat. YES, the water is that blue!

Spencer was so busy on mom's ipod that he didn't even know that we took this picture until mom got the pics developed. Mom's second grade class loved it that Scrooge snuck into the camera bag and went to Mexico with us.

RUINS ON THE RESORT
This is the remains of a small dwelling right on the property of the resort.
Wild Life
These lizards were everywhere, especially in the morning walking to breakfast. This one is on the remains of what is left of the walls of the Spanish chapel.

This little temple was on the rocks of the beach near the Spanish chapel ruins at the resort.
COBA GAME COURT
This was a court that opposing tribes would play a game of ball to settle trading and conflicts. The ball was made of solid rubber and about the size of a rubber ball used on playgrounds today. The players could not touch the ball with anything but their torso. They would win by getting the most balls through the ring at the top of the incline. You can see this ring if you look closely at the picture. We got to see a reenactment of this game and it is pretty incredible to watch.
TOP OF THE COBA PYRAMID
The ruins at Coba are one of the few ruins that you can still climb to the top. It is 176 steps to the top and this is the temple on the top of the pyramid. There were bats hanging inside this little enclosure. I am sure they thrive as Darren's sister, Connie, got 47 mosquito bites during our stay in Mexico.

YES, This picture is sideways as my blogging skills are not honed yet. This is a veiw from the corner of the pyramid in COBA where there are not any stairs. It gives you a good idea of the height of the pyramid. Yes, we climbed to the top.
